Tuesday night Ethan woke up just before midnight with a horrible, barking cough and trouble breathing. It was the scariest thing ever! Within minutes we were out the door on our way to Children's Hospital. By the time we got there, he was a bit better. He was diagnosed by the triage nurse with Croup. She knew right away when she saw and heard him. We were there for about 3 hours in the ER. He got a dose of oral steroids before we left to reduce the swelling in his throat. He is now doing very well. We were told it would last 5-7 days, but thankfully that night was the only night so far like that. It broke my heart to see him in that little gown!
